Reopening plans and information for scheduling appointments

As Salt Lake City adjusts to a new way of life amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Salt Lake City Arts Council believes that the arts are integral to creative solutions, critical conversations, community building, and healing. As we begin to reopen Finch Lane Gallery, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our community and staff. In compliance with the Utah Leads Together and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, as well as best practices by others in our field, this reopening plan details the phases and protocol that Finch Lane Gallery will implement.

While this work plan will likely change as the current situation continues to evolve, we hope to make Finch Lane Gallery accessible to the public despite the challenges of this time. Gallery hours have been modified to include morning, afternoon, and evening appointments. If you are a high-risk individual or have other accessibility needs, please let us know so that we can work to accommodate those requests.

The Salt Lake City Arts Council, located in Reservoir Park, is a contemporary gallery which programs visual arts exhibits year-round in the Finch Lane Gallery and invites artists to apply for exhibits annually.

The exhibition program is designed to: give local artists an opportunity to exhibit a current body of work, explore exhibition themes or media relevant to the community and field of arts at large, and foster the development of curatorial skills through exhibition production and collaboration. The application process includes a thorough and competitive review by the Visual Arts Committee of the Salt Lake City Arts Council.
