We are excited to welcome Sarah Hobin as our new Visual Arts and Community Outreach Manager! This position was recently updated to include both the important task of managing of the Finch Lane Gallery exhibitions in the historic Art Barn building as well as the expanded role of community outreach. This publicly facility position is geared towards outreach and advocacy in the development of new Arts Council initiatives and partnerships. Sarah brings with her extensive experience as well as a positive attitude which makes her a great fit for the Arts Council.
Sarah joined the Salt Lake City Arts Council in October of 2018 as the Public Art Program Assistant. In this role, she supported ongoing public art projects and helped strategize approaches for making the public art process more equitable and approachable for emerging and established artists alike. She is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Arts Council in expanded capacities as the Visual Arts and Community Outreach Manager, and to continue developing arts programming with the people of Salt Lake City.
Before her time with the Arts Council, Sarah lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked at various institutions such as the Contemporary Jewish Museum, the CCA Wattis Institute, and the Oakland Museum of California in curatorial, preparatory, and visitor services capacities. She is a practicing creative writer, a proud auntie of two, and spends much of her free time exploring the urban and natural landscapes around her.
