Not So Friendlies
The Not so Friendlies is a shoegaze band that has been creating music for two years. The project was started by musical partners Eoghan Knibbe and Haven Johansen and has progressed into a full band with a heavier sound, featuring drummer Elliot Emery and bassist Luke Bamford. Eoghan and Haven continue to write the music for the project based on their experiences as young people in Salt Lake City. Their work reminisces on adventure, mischief, and the places they love. They like to blend swaying, echoing guitars with cheerful, whimsical melodies, rich bass lines and dynamic drums that make you want to dance and fill your head with static. They take ass and kick names. They recently released their first album, titled “Cinema Days.”
Wednesday, August 8
“It’s just me and a guitar; I have 14 originals. I like to imagine my songs are more about summer and are meant to be listened to during the summer. But I guess they’ll be different for everybody.”
Thursday, August 9
Not Yeti is a Salt Lake City-based twee band started by two best friends during their senior year in high school. The band’s goal is to put big feelings into simple songs and try to keep the cheese level to a minimum.
Friday, August 10
“Through sensitive lo-fi and emotional indie, I create my own unique sound reminiscent of early 90’s shoegaze.”
