Last week, Mayor Jackie Biskupski announced the appointment of Felicia Baca as the city’s new Arts Division Director. Felicia will help lead Salt Lake City’s arts and culture efforts. Most recently, Felicia served as the Visual Arts Program Manager with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums. In that role, she managed all aspects of the program including exhibitions, community partnerships, funding programs, and events. Felicia has also served in various roles at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Arts, Utah Museum of Fine Arts, TATE Britain, and Salt Lake City’s YouthCity Artways program.
As the newly appointed Arts Division Director, Felicia will also serve as the Executive Director of the Arts Council Foundation, a separate 501c3 organization.
In addition to the Arts Division Director position, the mayor also named Kristian Anderson as the Senior Advisor for Arts and Culture. Kristian is currently the Executive Director of the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (UMOCA) and has worked hard to help promote the work of artists living and working in the state.
