SUPERVISOR: Performing Arts Program Manager

EMPLOYMENT LENGTH: May 16, 2024 – May 19, 2024

PART TIME/FULL TIME: Part-time Temporary

COMPENSATION: $20 per hour

NOTE: Projected hours for the duration of employment are approximately 35 hours. The 2024 Living Traditions Festival dates are: Friday, May 17 – Sunday, May 19, 2024.

DESCRIPTION:

This position supports the Vendor Lead in supervision and support efforts of all of the Food Market vendors, and Community Partner and Sponsor vendor booths for the Living Traditions Festival, a free and public festival which has served upwards of 30,000 members of the public each year for 37 years. The Vendor Assistant directly supports the Vendor Lead and the Performing Arts Program Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Vendor Lead in any vendor-related activities necessary including but not limited to: 
  • Onsite check-in and assistance of all vendor: food vendors, community partners and sponsors;
  • Assist in supervising assigned volunteers; 
  • Provide customer service and guidance to vendors at the vendor tent;
  • Provide rotational support and check-ins to vendor booths around the festival;
  • Assist in overseeing food market waste station; 
  • Assist in group projects as needed;
  • Strike and restoration of festival grounds in cooperation with production staff and other festival vendors, ensuring quality and precision while remaining safe and efficient;
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Experience in working for large scale festivals or events strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the local arts community is a plus; 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written & verbal) required;
  • Professional & positive attitude (tact, sensitivity, positivity, and diplomacy);
  • Detail-oriented, able to audit work to avoid mistakes, and perform tasks accurately;
  • Ability to think and act quickly under pressure;
  • Knowledge in project management and teamwork;
  • Able to lift upwards of 30 pounds and sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
