SUPERVISOR: Festival and Production Lead

EMPLOYMENT LENGTH: May 17, 2024 – May 19, 2024

PART TIME/FULL TIME: Part-time Seasonal

COMPENSATION: $20 per hour

NOTE: Projected hours for the duration of employment are approximately 35 hours. The 2024 Living Traditions Festival dates are: Friday, May 17 – Sunday, May 19, 2024.

DESCRIPTION:

The General Staff positions assist in the production of the Living Traditions Festival, a free and public festival which has served upwards of 30,000 members of the public each year for 37 years. General Staff are responsible for the assistance in the execution of all production related activities during our annual, Living Traditions Festival. The General Staff directly support the Performing Arts Program Manager and Production Lead, operating in whatever capacity necessary to ensure successful execution of the Festival, among other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Execution & Monitoring

  • Distribute and set-up tables, chairs, barricades, banners, associated displays, and garbage, recycling and composting cans around event grounds;
  • Maintain environmental graphics & directional signage around event grounds;
  • Assist beverage stations, artist green rooms, and vendor areas;
  • Greet guests at the entrance and hand out festival programs;
  • Give information about donating to the Festival;
  • Ask attendees to fill out survey upon exit;
  • Answer general festival questions;
  • Work with artists to manage lines and crowds;
  • Assist in breakdown of Festival materials;
  • Help direct guest flow and traffic;
  • Assist with load-in/load-out for vendors and artists;
  • Assist in closing duties at the end of each day (rolling out trash cans, clean up, etc.);
  • Support Production Lead in all miscellaneous production aspects of the Living Traditions Festival.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • This may include a variety of tasks and responsibilities such as assisting other key festival staff and vendors, supporting the execution of logistical plans, and other duties related to the production of the Living Traditions Festival.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Professional and positive attitude and demeanor (tact, sensitivity, positivity, and diplomacy);
  • Detail oriented, able to audit work to avoid mistakes, and perform tasks accurately;
  • Ability to think and act quickly under pressure;
  • Knowledge in teamwork;
  • Positive attitude; 
  • Able to lift upwards of 75 pounds and sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
